Find out who’s behind any email address
Reverse email lookup takes an email address you already have and returns the person behind it — their name, job title, seniority, current employer and LinkedIn profile. It is the inverse of an email finder, which starts from a name and returns an address. MoltSets resolves it in a single API or MCP call, and charges nothing when there is no match.

What the reverse email lookup API returns
Reverse email lookup resolves any professional email address against the MoltSets identity graph and returns the person behind it — name, title, seniority, employer, and LinkedIn profile.
It runs as a single enrichment call over the API or the MCP, so an agent can resolve an inbound signup, a form fill or a support ticket without a human in the loop. Misses cost nothing, so it is safe to try first.

How the data is kept accurate
No headline match-rate claim — here is what actually happens to the records instead.
01 / Dead profiles removed
Inactive and dead LinkedIn URLs are filtered out rather than left to rot in the index.
02 / Non-workforce filtered
Profiles with no work history, no title, or belonging to students and others outside the workforce are excluded.
03 / Job changes reprocessed
Employment is re-checked on a rolling basis, so titles and employers follow people as they move.
04 / Dated confirmations
Every email identifier carries its own confirmation date, so you can see how recently it was verified rather than taking it on trust.
What it costs
Reverse email lookup is included on every plan — there is no per-endpoint pricing. Enrichment endpoints only charge when data is found, so a miss costs nothing on any plan. Full detail on the pricing page.

Questions & answers about reverse email lookup
Frequently asked questions about identifying email owners and their information.
Reverse email lookup takes an email address you already have and returns the person behind it — their name, job title, current employer, and LinkedIn profile. It is the inverse of an email finder, which starts from a name and returns an address.
A matched record returns first and last name, job title, seniority, functional area, LinkedIn profile URL, country, and the current company with its website, LinkedIn page, headcount and revenue. Email fields come back as hashed identifiers with their confirmation dates, not as sendable addresses. Mobile phone numbers are not available from this endpoint.
No. Enrichment endpoints charge only when data is found, so a miss costs nothing. It does still count as one request against your Fair Use requests limit. That makes it safe to run a speculative lookup before falling back to a more expensive path.
A lookup that finds nothing is not an error. It returns HTTP 200 with status: "not_found", empty or null results, and the usual metadata. Read status, not the HTTP code, to tell a hit from a miss. The API only returns a 404 for an unknown or retired tool name.
Yes. The identity graph covers both business and personal addresses, so a lookup on a personal address can still resolve to a professional profile. Coverage is strongest on business domains.
No. Reverse email lookup takes one address per call, in the email parameter. To work through a list, send one call per address; each counts as one request against your Fair Use requests limit.
The entire database is refreshed every two weeks. Each email identifier carries its own confirmation date, so you can see how recently that address was last verified — work_email_confirmed_status in the sample above.
Records are maintained continuously rather than scraped once. Dead and inactive LinkedIn profiles are filtered out, as are profiles with no work history, no title, or that belong to students and others outside the workforce. Job changes are reprocessed on a rolling basis so employment stays current, and every email identifier carries its own confirmation date so you can see how recently it was verified. MoltSets publishes no headline match-rate figure — coverage is comparable to other vendors, and we'd rather you benchmark it against your own list than trust a number.
Yes. The Free plan includes 1,000 API calls so you can evaluate the data before committing. Because enrichment endpoints only charge when data is found, a miss during evaluation costs nothing either.
MoltSets processes business contact data under legitimate interest and honours opt-out requests across the whole database. See the compliance page for our certifications, sub-processors and DPA.
